Using Accents in Interior Decorating

What? Perhaps you are thinking . . .

First, you’re a writer.

Then, a Team Beachbody Coach.

And an actor.

Now, I’m calling myself an interior decorator?

No. This post is an ode to Zane.

We were at the doc’s for an ear-check after Sunday’s “Puke-fest” (for which I don’t remember purchasing tickets – yuck) when Zane commented on the color of the room.

“I like this room, because it’s the Green Room.”

All the rooms at our practice are decorated in a specific color.

“Yep. They chose the perfect room for you!”

His favorite color is green. Continue reading

Turbo Jam: 60 Days to a NEW You!

Once again, I am going directly to a Challenge Group graduate for a post. Perhaps you think me a lazy writer.

Truly, I just desire to share with you the incredible physical and life-changes that have come about in the lives of the women who accepted the challenge of placing themselves in a private Facebook group for accountability. Our goal? To focus on fitness, nutrition, and peer support.

Tiffany did a BANG UP job using her Turbo Jam Challenge Pack and has now moved into my graduate group. But, hey, lazy writer here. I’ll let HER tell you all about her experience.

I had been trying over the last 5 years to get off the 10 pounds I gained after my son stopped nursing.  Nursing really helped my body burn a lot of extra calories so I was used to being at a healthy weight without much effort.

I was a consistent exerciser but still had this extra weight that was weighing me down.  I had a hard time reducing my calories.  This last Valentine’s Day I had reached a weight that just started making me uncomfortable in my clothes and in my body.  Then I was ready and determined to take a Beachbody Challenge with Joline. You Say Tai Chi, I Say Tai Cheng

The following is a guest post by my good buddy Deb, who along with being a sister-writer at Daily Fast Fuel and a film-maker, has also agreed to be my Tai Cheng guinea pig for 90 days. She has some structural issues that have been gnawing at her for some time, but her doc actually gave her the “thumbs up” for Tai Cheng!

She’s actually been on the program for a number of weeks now, which is great, actually, for she can give you a more detailed account as to how she’s finding the program.

Take it away, Deb!

Tai Cheng is my first workout program with BeachBody.  I chose Tai Cheng because I am treating some neck problems, and Tai Cheng looked to be a great way to get back in the game and get my body ready for a more vigorous program later.  My cervical spine is straight (should be curved) and I have some disc degeneration, arthritis causing spinal stenosis, and a bulging disc. Insanity: Month One COMPLETE

One month of Insanity under my belt.

My goal with this program wasn’t to drop a crazy amount of weight, or even tone up.  Les Mills Pump did an incredible number on me physically, and thus, Insanity’s job was to help maintain my current fitness level, AND, help me jump an incredible mental hurdle: doing Insanity.

A little over a year ago I had the same hurdle when I chose to start P90X.

Who was I to think I could do P90X?

That program was for “other people” – not me!

But, I did it. Continue reading

Beachbody’s Ultimate Reset: Andrea is DONE (and feeling groovy!)

She did it! Andrea, who I’ve been spotlighting for the last 21 days, has completed her Ultimate Reset Journey! So, how’d she fair?????

I made it the full 21 days on the Ultimate Reset!  Wow…

It’s funny the emotional and mental things that happen when you deprive yourself of certain things.  My personal issues were sugar and caffeine withdrawal.   I will be the first to admit that I adore coffee!  We have a very nice reliable relationship and have for some time.  Mix in a spoonful of raw sugar and the mornings will look brighter and brighter.  When the coffee started to become an afternoon treat, well.. I knew I was time to back off. Continue reading
