21 One Days: Why the Ultimate Reset?

Over the past 3 years, I’ve fought to get myself into prime physical shape. I’ve completed almost every Beachbody workout. I’ve overhauled my pantry. I’ve overhauled my fridge. My children’s nutrition has radically changed. Only, I’m not a TOTAL radical. I like my wings. And my nightly popcorn. And chocolate chips. And don’t get me started on margaritas and free chips. However, along with choosing health, I have also learned that the grey winter months deplete me. I’m foggy. Weary. The lack of sunshine in Western, PA has become a yearly nemesis. And I have not come out the victor. I am consistent with working out. But I have also been consistent with pouring large quantities of coffee down my throat and feeding my...

Beachbody is the Sun, and the Moon, and the Stars (No, that would be Peter Pan)

Beachbody is the Sun, and the Moon, and the Stars (No, that would be Peter Pan)

Beachbody is the Way, and the Truth, and the Life! No, that would be Jesus. Let’s just be clear. Do I believe that FITNESS is for everyone? Yes. Do I believe that BEACHBODY was/is the answer for me? Yes. Do I believe that BEACHBODY is the answer for everyone? Heck, no. I am currently organizing a Whole Fitness Fair in my town along with some fellow local Beachbody coaches. We started our planning by drafting a list of independent trainers, gym owners, and group fitness instructors that we wanted to partner with in an effort to highlight the importance of overall physical fitness in our community. Yes, my team will be representing Beachbody – but along with our company, there will be others who promote physical fitness and nutrition, along with...

Don’t You Run Any Longer?

Don’t You Run Any Longer?

The short answer is, “No.” I do not. I have never actually been a runner. I have run: 5K’s, 10K’s, half-marathons, but I have never considered myself a runner. The short answer as to why I no longer run is, “I don’t need to run.” The longer answer requires a history lesson. Back in 7th grade, while running up a hill, my foot suddenly stopped working. No warning pain. I fell. I tried to stand up and it hurt like hell. I’d been a dancer, a gymnast, a fast runner (’cause I was petite), so I had no idea what happened. It wasn’t my ankle. No. I was my foot. I was diagnosed with something I can not pronounce. In laymen’s terms, I learned that I have extra bones in my feet which impede a tendon to go where...

Disney Hangover

Disney Hangover

I’m currently sitting at the gate at the Orlando airport, craving a chance to write some thoughts about this week’s Disney adventure which was given to our family from Team Beachbody as recognition for reaching some lofty goals in 2012.  Just as I earned a trip to Atlantis in 2011,  this year’s trip included over 1000 coaches who all met the requirements to be given a 4 day trip to Disney along with tickets or a gift card to Disney World.  As an Elite Coach, my family was also treated to 5th  night at the Yacht Club Resort, and a spectacular event prior to the arrival of the conference/celebration attendees. It was fantastic. It was exhausting. But, the exhaustion was completely worth it. I thought it would be fun to highlight some of my...

Beachbody Ultimate Reset: A Yoga Instructor’s 21-Day Journey

Over the next 21 days, we will be following Andrea’s journey using the NEW Beachbody Ultimate Reset. Andrea is the owner of Sangha Yoga, and is no stranger to the idea of a 21 day detox. To learn more about Sangha Yoga, please visit their site, or their Facebook page. You can research more information about the Ultimate Reset, on my official Ultimate Reset site. DAY -1 Spring is the time when some of us feel the need to clean, change, get out and move. Maybe it’s the dreaded “swim suit season” that will be here before we know it, or maybe it’s the act of shaking off those winter cobwebs that has us eager to get something done? As a yoga instructor, I always advise my students to create a renewal with every practice. Staying in the present moment and...
